Every mirror you have ever used shows you a reversed face. Your brain has spent a lifetime learning that reversal as the truth, which is why photographs of you feel subtly wrong and why video calls are quietly unsettling.
True Mirror flips the flip. It renders a laterally-correct reflection at full frame rate, so the asymmetries you have never consciously noticed suddenly resolve into the face other people actually see.
The engineering problem is almost entirely latency. Anything above roughly 20 ms of glass-to-glass delay and the illusion collapses — it stops reading as a mirror and starts reading as a video feed. The pipeline runs on the GPU end to end, with the flip folded into the same pass as the colour transform so there is no extra copy.
